In Memorial

Eamonn Dorgan, founding member of Futures for Children, was dedicated to helping improve the lives of the poorest children in the world. He understood what it was like to need a little help. In his own life, he took advantage of every opportunity he was given to uplift his family of origin and later his own wife and children, taking any job he could get, gaining scholarships, starting his own small businesses and eventually gaining his ACCA. He wanted to offer the same to others. It was Fr Gerard McDonough SJ who got Eamonn involved in a charity called Mathew 25. He organized concerts, picnics and he succeeded in obtaining substantial grants to raise funds for projects in Calcutta and Uganda.

The projects from Mathew 25 were transferred to Futures for Children. Projects were started in Bethlehem and in Nepal.

Eamonn did all the accounting for Futures for Children without payment, often putting some of his own money in when necessary, to ensure that 100 percent of donations went to the projects. Eamonn will be missed but his family will do their best to fill his shoes in the organization.
